Storage pods
Renters drop a sealed pod (1–2 m³) on your driveway and leave it for 2–6 months. You don't handle anything; the pod company collects on the renter's schedule.
Off-season classic cars
Owners of summer-only convertibles or classics need somewhere covered or off-road from October to March. Premium pricing in Dublin / Manchester / Amsterdam.
Motorbikes + scooters
Year-round bookings from city commuters who don't have off-street parking at home. Typically €30–€60/mo, predictable and low-effort.
Caravans + trailers
Off-season caravan and trailer storage runs 6–9 months at €70–€120/mo. Renters drop and collect; you keep your driveway free for the rest of the year.

High-density urban hosts (Dublin 2, central London, Amsterdam Centrum) rent driveway corners for cargo-bike storage at premium rates.

First £1,000/yr of property income is tax-free under the Property Allowance. The Rent-a-Room scheme (£7,500) does not cover storage — it is for letting a furnished room to a lodger. Above £1,000, declare on Self Assessment.

FAQ — renting out your driveway
Will renters need access to anything else?
No. Driveway hosting is the most hands-off Packhood asset — renters drop their pod / vehicle on your driveway and access it on the schedule you both agree. They never enter the house.
What if my driveway is shared?
Listing requires that the space you rent is exclusively yours. Shared communal driveways are not eligible. If part of your driveway is exclusively yours and part is shared, list only the exclusive portion.
Do I need permission from my freeholder / management company?
Most leasehold and management agreements allow personal use of an exclusive driveway. Some prohibit any commercial use; check your lease before listing. The responsibility to comply sits with you.
Are vehicles insured?
The renter's vehicle is the renter's responsibility — they retain insurance. The Packhood Host Guarantee covers damage to your driveway / property caused by the renter or their vehicle.
How quickly will my driveway book?
Driveways near city centres and transit hubs (Connolly, Manchester Piccadilly, Amsterdam Centraal) book within days. Suburban driveways take 3–6 weeks; pricing and clear photos are the levers.
