FAQ — renting out your commercial mezzanine

Is this counted as subletting?

No. Storage hosting is a service contract for renting space to store items; your business retains possession and control of the premises. Subletting transfers possession; Packhood does not.

How does VAT work?

VAT-registered hosts charge VAT on the rental; Packhood's 5% commission is also subject to VAT in qualifying jurisdictions. Issued invoices include the breakdown automatically.

Are commercial renters insured separately?

Every booking carries the €300 Host Guarantee aggregate per booking. Renters are responsible for their own contents cover for stored goods; we verify proof of cover for higher-value commercial loads before the booking confirms.

Can I host space in a leasehold premise?

Most commercial leases allow incidental storage use; some require landlord consent for any sub-licence. Check your lease before listing. The responsibility to comply sits with you.

What's the typical booking length?

Commercial bookings are typically 6–24 months, sometimes longer. Setup is once; monthly billing runs until either side gives notice in line with the listing terms.
