If you rent your home, check your tenancy agreement first — most allow short-term storage of items, but some prohibit any commercial use. If you own a leasehold flat, your lease may set conditions. We can't override those agreements; the responsibility to comply sits with you.

Renter pays Packhood → Packhood holds the payment via Stripe → on the booking's first payout date you receive 95% (the listed price minus the 5% host commission) into your connected Stripe account, on Packhood's normal payout cycle. No invoicing, no chasing.

Renters who have completed email + phone verification and paid by card through Stripe with 3-D Secure (SCA). Their payment is authorised and held until you accept — so a booking only reaches you with money already secured. Your address is shared only after a booking confirms, and renters agree to your access rules and prohibited-items list before they pay.

SpareRoom is for renting rooms to live in; Packhood is for renting space to store items. Different KYC, different insurance, different legal status — storage hosting is not a residential let, so no tenancy rights apply. That makes Packhood a much faster, lower-commitment way to monetise the same property.

Anything dry, secure and accessible: garages, sheds, attics, basements, driveways, spare rooms, box rooms, commercial mezzanines and warehouse bays. We don't accept shared/communal areas, anything below building-code waterproofing, or spaces with active mould or rodent issues.
